At Specialised Training Ltd, we are committed to keeping our training offer current and responsive to real-world needs. We’re pleased to announce the launch of a brand-new, specialised course: Self-Harm, Suicide & Ligature Training. This course underscores our commitment to continuous learning: we believe in evolving our training in line with emerging issues, legislation and best practice.
Trigger warning: This course deals with intense and potentially distressing themes including self-harm, suicide and ligature use. Some people reading or participating may find the content upsetting.

Why Our Self-Harm, Suicide & Ligature Training Course Is Important
Rates of self-harm and suicidal thoughts have increased among many age groups in the UK. Recent data from the NHS England 2023/24 survey shows lifetime self-harm reporting rose from 6.4% in 2014 to 10.3% among 16–74-year-olds by 2023/24.
NHS England
As demand for mental-health and support services grows, more care settings may encounter individuals at risk, increasing the need for staff to be trained and prepared.
By offering this course, we’re expanding our portfolio to reflect real societal needs. Constant learning and training aren’t optional; it’s essential.
