Positive Handling Training

If you are a member of school teaching or support staff, and need to engage with, or manage challenging or aggressive students, then this is the course for you. Taught by subject matter specialists, who not only teach the theoretical science behind behaviour management, but will also teach candidates simple, practical and safe techniques, that will enable them to keep their students and themselves safe in times of distress.

All techniques used on this course have been medically risk assessed, to provide the safest possible option if the need for intervention arises.  All our trainers carry ID and also hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate. The course will include some of the of the following content and can  be tailored to suit each school depending on their individual needs.

  • Health and Safety Legislation
  • Education and inspection Act 2006
  • Use of Force Legislation
  • The Children act 1989 (where appropriate)
  • The Escalation cycle
  • Recognition of Positional Asphyxia
  • The science of behaviour management

All of our trainers are trained and licenced by the National Federation Of Personal Safety (NFPS). In order to maintain the highest standards and keep skill levels up to date all licenced trainers are required to attend a yearly refresher with NFPS instructors.

We are totally flexible and will happily adapt the training to suit your individual needs. Normally the course would be held over 1 day but this can be done over 2 evenings if necessary.
