The term mental illness covers a very broad range of mental health problems, which can involve changes to our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and relationships with others. Mental illnesses are associated with distress and problems functioning in our day-to-day lives (social, work, family etc.)… Mental illness is treatable.
What is First Aid For Mental Health?
First Aid for Mental health is the initial support provided to a person experiencing a mental health problem until professional help is received or until the crisis is resolved.
Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health RQF (Half day)
This half day course is suitable for anyone who needs to or would like to understand a bit more about Mental health. This is just a very brief introduction into the world of First Aid for Mental Health.
Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health RQF (Full day)
This one-day Course is suitable for team leaders and line managers and it will help them to identify possible mental health conditions early on. Early intervention is a key step to sign posting and recovery.
Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for mental health RQF (2 Day)
This 2-day course is for Line managers and possibly more senior managers. This is an intensive and comprehensive course that covers signs and indictors of the most common Mental Health conditions such as, Stress, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Self-harm, Suicide, Eating disorders, Personality disorders, Bipolar disorder, Psychosis and Schizophrenia.
