Course Sections
Self-Harm
This section of the course explores the impact of poor mental health and how this can effect a persons ability to mange their feelings and emotions.
This Awareness course is specifically designed for support staff who are supporting children, young people and adults who are at risk of suicide or self harm.
Learners will gain valuable practical skills and knowledge to enable then to recognise and identify a person at risk of harm.
Suicide
This section deals with the difference between Self-Harm and Suicide and how to deal with a medical emergency if faced with a life threatening situation.
Ligature
This section deals with ligatures, explaining what they are, what to look for and how to carry out a risk assessment on a person and their environment in order to help keep them safe from harm. Learners will learn practical skills that will empower them to identify and deal with any life threatening situations that may arise.
They will have the opportunity to select and use different ligature cutting equipment and understand how remove a ligature safely.
