Last month, we had the privilege of delivering our Emergency Paediatric First Aid training to a dedicated group of teachers, alongside Level 3 Safeguarding for a newly established early years provision. These courses are designed to meet statutory requirements and ensure that staff are equipped to respond confidently and appropriately in the moments that matter most. Supporting children and young people in any educational setting means more than just teaching—it also involves creating a safe, supportive, and well-prepared environment.

Level 1 and Level 3 Awareness of Safeguarding
Level 1 is a great starting point for staff and volunteers. This half-day session provides a strong foundation for recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns involving children or vulnerable adults.
For those with more direct responsibility, the Level 3 Award in Safeguarding is a full-day course covering the principles of protecting children, young people, and adults at risk. It promotes awareness, sensitivity, and a clear understanding of how and when to take action.
First Aid at Work for Educational Settings
We also offer the Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid at Work course — essential for those with a duty of care to young children. This one-day, regulated qualification provides practical skills and meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. All our trainers will also hold an up-to-date DBS certificate in order to comply with any safeguarding requirements.
Flexible training options for your team
Whether you’re running a nursery, school, or other educational setting, our training can be delivered on-site and tailored to your team’s needs. Help create a safer learning environment by booking essential safeguarding and first aid training today.
While early years settings require paediatric-specific first aid to address physiological vulnerabilities in very young children, primary schools benefit from a broader blend of paediatric and general first aid. In these later years, safeguarding becomes more complex—teachers and staff increasingly encounter emotional, online, and peer-on-peer incidents. Indeed, 93 % of UK teachers reported a rise in safeguarding referrals in 2022, with referrals to children’s services up 59 % year‑on‑year.
